After months of trying to get our voices heard, we've gotten a reply from the Manager of Community Cooperation/Program and Policy Development Specialist, Christie Meadus. She says:
Good Morning Julie,
It was a pleasure speaking with you this morning. Your input on regionalization is welcomed and appreciated.
As requested here is a copy of the LSD and UIA Services Questionnaire that was available online last fall. I am not sure how we missed your submission. There must have been a technical error somewhere in the process. We would be happy to receive it now for consideration.
In addition, if you, your LSD committee or the residents of your community would like to submit their views on regionalization, we are still accepting written submissions to the regionalgovernment@gov.nl.ca email address.
As we discussed over the phone, the Joint Working Group Report and Recommendations are not Government’s plan for regionalization. Our regionalization efforts are an ongoing process. The Department is currently completing a thorough analysis of the recommendations, as well as other research and feedback we’ve received from residents and stakeholders like yourself. The report is just one of many tools Government will consider when developing a comprehensive regionalization plan for the province that addressed our unique challenges.
Below is a copy of the Questionnaire. We will be collecting all submissions as they are ready, alternatively, as Ms. Meadus' email says you can email regionalgovernment@gov.nl.ca with your copy.
