Brush Fires

Please note Witless Bay Fire Dept has responded to two out of control brush fires in the last 3 weeks. The ground is very dry and small embers from even a well controlled fire can quickly cause an out of control fire which threaten houses, property etc.

During forest fire season, from May 1st to September 30th, residents must obtain a burn permit from the provincial department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture Permit to Burn
